An Unusually Piece of Beauty

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:22:05 PM in Hamilton Watch (29)

It’s got the twist definitely. The Hamilton Shaped collection offers trendy, modern and sleek, if not flamboyant, designs that are sure to catch attention. It has no room for a circular casing, opting instead for a triangular body. The novel idea is toned down by the neat dial layout and smooth-flowing lines of the strap. If you like the unique shape but still longs for something classic, try the Shaped’s Ventura Auto. The brown strap and dial surface is reminiscent of the good old fifties. For a single tone and simpler look, the Ventura S meanwhile features a mother-of-pearl dial for that luxurious touch. For the sporty type the Ventura Elvis Anniversary is bold in its rubber strap, while maintain a tone of elegance with its sapphire crystal casing cover.

Mumbling Memories

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:20:57 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

Like most men probably, I thought about the exact words to say when I proposed to my wife many years ago. I couldn’t remember the exact words now, but I do remember memorizing each word in the right sequence. I spent three days crafting the best words, combing some and dropping some. I wanted it to go beyond the usual, “Will you marry me?” Besides, I thought to prepare a long speech, something that would encapsulate my long and inexhaustible feelings for her. And like most men probably, I bungled my words on the proposal day. I knew I was in trouble when I couldn’t make out my message. I was reduced to mumbling to myself while my wife, who had inkling about the proposal, was just looking amused and entertained. What saved the day? My Kirk Kara engagement ring. Whatever dignity I lost mumbling like a child, Kirk Kara made me look sophisticated at once.

Versatile in Fashion

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:19:32 PM in Judith Ripka (22)

Some women prefer jewelry with classic undertones, while others like a modern twist. If you’re somewhat caught in the middle and undecided, Judith Ripka can help. She’s a top jewelry designer that made her line famous for creating sterling silver and 18k gold jewelry in classic styles but with a modern look. Diamonds, sapphires, and other semi-precious stones are set in celadon gold and alloy that matches any skin tones. Fancy her more popular designs such as hearts, lobster claws and diamonds on pulse points. Incidentally, the sterling silver is rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing. A Judith Ripka jewelry piecefits a wide range of fashion styles from black tie to blue jeans. Now that's versatile.

Missing a Beat

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:17:48 PM in Breitling (27)

It’s chic marrying precision. British suave meeting Swiss luxury. Breitling marrying Bentley. It’s the ultimate fusion of fashion and wealth brands. For Breitling it’s only natural to align itself with the world’s most admired and aspired to brands. It is by itself a name that the most sophisticated gentleman would wear. But the timepiece signature is more than a luxury watch; it’s an engineering marvel that runs with elegance and accuracy like the engine that runs a Bentley. The complication allows for an exact reading or measured times. The casing is an artwork, like a masterpiece crafted by piece by piece. If there’s a beat missed, it is likely the beat of someone’s heart that can’t get enough of Breitling’s impressive design and make.

Facial Recognition

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:16:27 PM in John Hardy (29)

Wearing the best pair of earrings doesn’t stop at buying a luxurious brand like John Hardy. The earrings should match your facial shape. An oval-shaped face looks stunning with a teardrop earring. It adds a point to counter the otherwise slender lines of the oval. The same style (and reason) also works for a round face. She can also use a dangle type to add length to her face. Meantime, earrings with elongated curves and line work okay for a heart-shaped face. It draws attention to the cheekbones and jaw line. If your face is square, hoop earrings can soften it. On the other hand, a narrow face can use dangle earrings to minimize the facial length. Consider your facial shape first before buying a glamorous earring like a John Hardy to get the best value out of luxury.

Proposal Tips

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:15:01 PM in Hearts on Fire (30)

You have one shot to make your marriage proposal work. Make sure to remember these things. Drop some bits of clues that you’ll be popping the question. This should clue her in to clue you in if she’s not interested to bring your relationship one step further. Don’t loan, but save up for the ring. It’s not a pretty thought that your debt off the ring will be hers, too, once you’re married. Ask her first, not her parents or friends. She’s the one you’re marrying, after all. Timing is crucial. Make sure she or you have no other upcoming major thing like a bar exam or an out-of-town assignment that can douse water on your burning proposal. In case you forget all these tips, you can always get her a Hearts On Fire diamond ring and all is likely well to end well.

Baume & Mercier is one of the most popular Swiss luxury watch brands for its precision Swiss movement and luxurious designs. It has a wide array of stylish collections that are unmistakably reserved for the fashionable and sophisticated. The Clifton has slender casings and a minimalist dial design and elegant leather straps. It’s a simple yet timeless style for the confident man. Capeland,  on the other hand, is intricate and lavish. It’s a retrospective of turn-of-the-century dial designs that overwhelm the senses with crisscrossing fine lines, a true fit for the top executive. The Classima, like the Clifton, is confident in its simple dial layout and casing. Likewise, the Hampton is classic in its square corners, and one model is even lavishly set with precious stones. Exclusively for Her

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:10:22 PM in Yvel (21)

Nowadays, the thin line separating men from women is slowly being dismanteled. Numerous things that used to be purely for women are decreasing in number. The same thing also happens for those that are limited for men. But despite the seeming shift of how things around us are evolving, some things simply do not change, just like how pearls are worn. "Pearls are also ultra-feminine, worn exclusively by women," explains Isaac Levy, the founder/owner of Yvel, a leading Israel-based jewerly maker.  He adds, "I enjoy designing with pearls because they represent one of nature's most beautiful creations together with being so very fashionable." In fact, pearls remain as the focal point of all Yvel pieces that Mr. Levy designs.

Yvel's Pastel Collection is one good example of Mr. Levy's ingenious design, which features a set of fresh water baroque pearls in an enthralling cluster of pastel colors, set in satin finish 18 carat gold. The design creates a truly feminine charm, which brings radiant hues to the face through bold necklaces, clips, or earrings.

This color is said to have calming effect and it helps to uplift the spirit of those in despair. Making Bold Statements

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:07:07 PM in David Yurman (31)

In today's cruel corporate world, survival of the fittest has been increasingly the norm to subsist and succeed. One must be strong enough to withstand the tides of competition. In the highly-competitive world of jewelry making, only the strong ones will emerge victorious, just like what David Yurman does through his daring, yet elegant designs, which guarantees his competitive advantage over others. Once, David Yurman was engulfed by a misty, mysterious purple in his imagination but couldn't seem to identify which stone can bring justice to his idea. He then summoned the industry's leading gem cutters and was able to create a unique doublet that incorporates lavender hematite and amethyst in a jewelry of seducting beauty. Thus came into existence Yurman's mesmerizing statement rings, which includes Black Orchid, the exclusive Yurman amethyst and hematite doublet, all featuring explicit gemstones as centerpieces.

Extreme sport made easy?

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:03:10 PM in Ball (25)

One of the most challenging extreme sports is freediving, where a diver must solely rely on his/her capability to hold his/her breath the longest time humanly possible (without using any breathing apparatus!) until resurfacing. The most famous of these is constant weight freediving, where competitors push their limits of going the greatest depth underwater with only a single breath. Just recently, Guillaume Néry had set a new French freediving record in a competition near Crete, Greece with an unbelievable 124 meter dive! Accompanying Mr. Néry was his ever dependable Ball Watch Engineer Master II Diver Worldtime, which has several extreme sports features like 300m of water-resistance, up to 5,000Gs shock resistance, anti-magnetic to 4,800A/m, an illuminated rotating inner bezel, a screwed-in crown and caseback, and an anti-reflective Sapphire crystal. The watch also has 55 micro gas tubes for easy reading even in extremely dark places. Powered by an automatic Ball Caliber 965, the Engineer Master II is available on a cool new rubber divers strap or a stainless steel bracelet.

Artistic Bling

“A woman needs to be animated. She needs to live life to the fullest,” said jewelry virtuoso Charles Krypell when asked about his philosophy about women.
Originally a sculptor, Krypell still employs his sculpting acumen as well as his affinity for three-dimensional media in creating every piece of jewelry, manifesting his artistic desire to keep on pushing the limits of design. His expansive use of color combined with stunning gems also perfectly fuses in creating his incomparable designs. As a life-long student of the arts, Krypell never ceases to study and experiment on a myriad of all-around design of a metal and how it certain metals entwines a stone. Just like a sculpture, a jewelry is created to be appreciated from numerous dimensions and vantage points.

A never-ending season

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:58:22 PM in A. Jaffe (25)

In everyone's life, one thing is very certain: seasons come and go. One day winter comes, a few months it will leave for spring to enter. When summer arrives, it will then exit for fall. Maybe that's just how simple life is, everything is in a viscious cycle, in a constant change. But still, some things are actually meant to last. After a century of creating timeless and elegant jewelries, A. Jaffe introduces a collection that somehow wants to be saying that there is such a season that will never change: the Seasons of Love Collection. Adorned with natural pink diamonds, the collection's Rose-Gold Crossover Diamond is a gem to behold forever because we know that love is a season that never ends.

More than meets the eye

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:26:35 PM in Tissot (27)

"What is essential is invisible to the eye," as what was notably quoted in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince. This is very true in most of life's situations, as people tend to conceal their truest character within their private selves. This belief, however, is also quite applicable to other things, such as timepieces. For one, the Tissot T-Touch Classic merges timeless classic style and sophisticated technology into one. At first glance, an unsuspecting eye will readily recognize an indubitably impressive vintage watch. A close examination, however, will expose something more. It is in fact a sports timepiece featuring 11 tactile functions, built with a mini LCD screen! With a stainless steel bracelet

The Tissot T-Touch Classic is simply "the" watch for all sporty gentlemen out there, who just want to stick to nostagic designs while at the same time seeking for utility that's imperative to lead an active lifestyle.

It's a good thing, though, that Tissot timepieces are always "visibly" available at Schwarzschild’s at Carry Town.

A magical gemstone?

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:25:07 PM in Suna Brothers (22)

At one glance, tourmaline is just an ordinary gemstone, as it is made up of typical elements like sodium, aluminium, iron, and magnesium. What could likely set tourmaline apart from other stones is that it comes in a relatively wide array of different colors. However, it actually doesn't stop there because tourmaline, both in the past and at present, had been known for its awesome capability to help detofixy our bodies of many toxins. It does so because aside from having the ability to generate its own electric charge, it can naturally emit negative ions and far-infrared rays, all of which help relieve numerous human ailments like stress, as well as assist to invigorate the immune system and enhance blod circulation.

Suna Bros. designed an elegant tourmaline (13.75ct) ring that emanates its numerous tones in a 20-karat pink gold ring, endowed with 136 diamonds. Get your own tourmaline ring and be mesmerized by its stunning spectrum of colors. As an added bonus, you will also be protected from many bad elements harmful to the human body.

An Iconic Collection

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:22:57 PM in Slane (22)

At the forefront of sterling silver jewelry scene are two exceptional women sharing a single surname—Slane. Sisters Landon and Heath, who founded their company in 1997, had envisioned that their line of high-end sterling silver jewelries would someday become "tomorrow's heirlooms". At the rate things are going, after sixteen years of prolific artistic collaborations, such erstwhile bold prediction is inevitably coming to fruition. The Iconic Collection, which the designer-sisters call as the quintessence of "Slane jewelry" style, had steadily been offering fresh, ingenious designs. These new pieces seek to further up the ante in making "fashion statements," such as colored stone cocktail rings and larger cuffs, which also help in "balancing out the more delicate palette from recent seasons,” explains Landon Slane.

Feminine freedom at its best

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:17:51 PM in Raymond Weil (23)

Since time immemorial, most cultures had always considered the female gender as the "weaker" sex, maybe due to a woman's normally less muscular built, or even due to the male's ever-preponderating machismo. But ever since the 19th century Women's Lib movement, gender inequality is now just a memory. Raymond Weil gives salute to the women of today by creating an exclusively feminine collection: Shine. This for-female-only timepiece assembly features the watchmaker’s patented interchangeable bracelet system which gives a woman the freedom to easily change the strap based on her mood for each moment. Girls just wanna have fun, right? But it doesn’t stop there. Women can also choose which type of strap they want for their Shine timepiece—either metal bracelet or denim or leather strap. So there’s no more reason to hide a woman’s true persona, let her true colors shine through the Raymond Weil Shine.

Pearl 101

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:10:36 PM in Mikimoto (30)

It’s easy to admire Mikimoto pearls for their soft tone and smooth and its seemingly unblemished surface. But there are more to pearls than appreciating a good brand. Here are some things about pearls that you may want to know. Pearls are categorized as natural or cultured. Most pearl jewelry out there are cultured. The pearl’s luster is its most valued characteristic, the reason why Mikimoto pearls are sought after. Large pearls are more valuable than small ones, but size alone doesn’t make the jewelry fashionable. It’s the style that counts. Most pearls have blemish, but with Mikimoto this seems unnoticeable because of its excellent luster. Cologne, lotion and hairspray can discolour pearls. Apply them first before putting on the pearl jewelry. Limit washing the pearls because it can weaken the string.  Pearls are timeless and always a good accent to any glamorous night. They’re a good investment in fashion.

Hallmark of Value

Metalsmiths Sterling not only gives you a wide range of fine sterling silver jewelry, such as bracelets, necklaces and pendants. The brand uses the UK hallmarking standards for sterling silver, considered in the world as the highest form of silver hallmarking. This practice of marking the silver item ensures that the buyer is getting genuine sterling silver. Metalsmiths Sterling uses four hallmarks to mark its silver jewelry pieces. The first hallmark represents the brand. The second hallmark represents the country where the sterling jewelry is made. The third hallmark designates the standard of the silver. And lastly the fourth hallmark represents the monarchy of the Commonwealth where the jewelry is made.  The entire hallmarking process adds value to Metalsmiths Sterling silver jewelry.

Philip Stein elevates luxury timepieces from stylish items to a technology tool for well-being. Called the Natural Frequency Technology, this patented system is built inside Philip Stein watches using a proprietary disc.  The watch catches natural frequencies that are beneficial to health, such as an aid to better sleep, less tension and improved concentration. Our environment is said to be surrounded by frequencies that affect our bodies down to how our cells behave in certain frequencies. However, the modern age produces artificial frequencies that are said to disrupt many of our bodies’ natural frequency behaviors. Wedding Ideas for This Fall

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:06:43 PM in Memoire (23)

So you’re getting married this fall? Don’t forget these simple ideas from Memoire wedding jewelry. It’s getting cold so give your bridesmaids pashmina to keep them warm during the outdoor shoot. Go for warm hues like chocolate brown to exude warmth in this cold season. Go for something different like use pumpkins to carry the flowers instead of baskets for the flower girls. Add some rustic feel to your bouquet with garden roses and fiddle fern or combine bright flowers for bouquet to reflect the season’s exploding colors. Create autumn tones in the ceremony décor by using birch, hydrangeas and bittersweet berries. Consider open-roof venues to enjoy the night stars without freezing your guests. Also check for availability of space heaters. And of course go for outdoors. The seasonal colors are naturally set for you. Let this fall wedding be as memorable as you exchange vows and the classic, timeless elegance of Memoire wedding rings.

Crazy Proposal Ideas

Posted by Schwarzschild at 12:35:03 PM in Martin Flyer (24)

Are you thinking of the best way to propose? Here are a few crazy ideas. Put up a billboard display showing you proposing. Visit Paris with her and give her a chocolate truffle with the ring on top. Buy her roses with the ring inside one of the roses. Ask a favour from the projectionist to put the ring in front of the projector to show the ring before the trailers. Call a singing group to make a house call. Let her open the door as they sing your proposal. Have dinner at a fancy restaurant. Ask the waiter to bring a special plate with cover and inside is the ring. Let the waiter open it to her. Pop the question at the top of a ferris wheel. Ask an amusement park barker to announce your proposal. Well, the list is endless and is only limited by your creativity. However you do it, top the surprise with a Martin Flyer engagement ring. The two, truly, become one.

In Good Company

Who wear an Omega? Apparently, Hollywood. Let’s pick some memorable movies and TV shows that have featured this aspirational brand in an incidental role. We know James Bond loves his Omega, but so does NASA. In Apollo 13, Omega is shown worn by Tom Hanks and the other astronauts on board the space flight, depicting the watch as the official timepieces for NASA in real life. Omega has also graced numerous X-Files episodes, notably Dana Scully’s 18k Gold Omega Deville Symbol. Similarly, Will Smith wore an Omega DeVille Prestige in Enemy of the State. An Omega Seamaster Professional Diver is also featured in the series Jag, as well worn by Nigel Marven in The Discovery Channel’s nature documentary Nigel’s Wild, Wild World. The Right Way to Wear Jewelry for Men

Posted by Schwarzschild at 12:32:22 PM in Marco Bicego (31)

Men are increasingly attracted to the lure of jewelry, so here’s a quick advice on how to wear it properly. First, keep it simple. Marco Bicego understands this. Its sleek, elegant gold and silver men’s bracelets are simple yet impressive that match any formal men’s wear. Second, match the material. It’s best to wear one tone at a time, whether gold, silver, bronze, wood or leather so you don’t overwhelm your style. Third, know when to wear jewelry.  Reserve it for special occasions and, definitely, you don’t need to wear it on the barbecue weekend save for the wedding ring, perhaps. Lastly, be tasteful or to put it in reverse, don’t be ostentatious. Jewelry may be small but it grabs attention so wear it at a minimum.  Keep these tips in mind or check on Marco Bicego’s style as reference and you’ll be exuding a fashionable style soon.
