The Queen of France, a True Story

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:44:25 PM in Hearts on Fire (30)

A Hearts On Fire diamond is one of the most luxurious (and expensive) diamond jewelries today. When your lady asks for it, give her one; it’s one of those moments to showcase your true love. But not without teasing her. Tell her what happened to the last queen of France. When she still had her neck, Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, would wear a lavish necklace considered among the top most expensive jewels ever. The necklace has two yellow diamonds at 7.06 and 5.24 carats each, and a pink diamond that weighs 1.84 carats. The main diamond pulls the chokers down like an anchor creating mesmerizing layers of lavishly brilliant strands. It’s truly a picture of unwarranted opulence amidst dire poverty during eighteenth-century France, just one of the queen’s luxurious penchants that got her guillotined.

And when you take a dip with her, she can dive up to 5 ATM. If at this point you haven’t been hit yet by a shoe or slapped in the face with a flying plate, tell her the lady’s name: Hampton, a most lovely ladies watch by Baume & Mercier featuring a quartz movement, date function and interchangeable strap. Now watch her face turns apologetic.

Ways to Pop the Q

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:40:35 PM in Christopher Designs (25)

You can set up a most memorable engagement announcement by thinking of three main things: place, event, or time. Think of a special place that fits the moment. It can be a luxurious restaurant or a sentimental place like the café where you two met. You can also create a special event. Set up a surprise party for her or bring her to a mundane happening like asking her to help you fix the car before surprising her with a lavish setup, complete with a quartet. Likewise, you can make your own flash crowd event.  On the other hand, you can choose a special day that holds memories or value to both of you. For instance, the birthday of her late father. Invite her to a dinner and talk about her dad. Then you can segue about promising him that you’ll take care of her daughter. Then give her the Christopher Design ring.

Enduring Luxury

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:34:23 PM in Wellendorf (21)

If endurance is the benchmark for excellence in the jewelry industry, then Wellendorff cannot be any more perfect as a picture of excellence. The jewelry signature has been run by a German family across five generations. To put that in perspective, it has survived two world wars, witnessed the grandeur of Europe’s aristocracy and saw its demise along with imperialism. The manufactory that produces the trademark spinning rings, silky rope necklaces, cold enamel, and patented clasps today has its origins from the late nineteenth century, when a man named Ernst Alexander Wellendorff, would present his jewelry pieces to the German nobility in nearby Baden-Baden. His works would reach the Russian aristocracy, paving the way to making Wellendorff one of the oldest jewelry brands in the world.

One Style

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:29:11 PM in Slane (22)

Wearing luxury jewelries is a matter of synchronized style, that is, the rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets should feature the same theme or inspiration. When buying Slane, for instance, you can choose specific styles to go with your evening dress. Each theme exhibits a particular design. Alexandria has noticeably layered edges and smooth corners, whether the metal is gold or silver or whatever the jewelry type is. In contrast, Calypso has a slender twisting style that is consistent in the earrings and rings. Fleur De Lis is evidently flower-inspired, matched with a Victorian flair. Solis is expressively sunny set against a deep blue or green hue. Grace, meantime, presents gemstones settings like black onyx, white topaz, and blue topaz in cornered bezels. All these styles help you keep a cohesive style that can only shout—luxury.

The Quartz Crisis

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:27:19 PM in Swiss Army (24)

In the seventies, a new breed of watches was challenging the dominance of Swiss mechanical watches worldwide. The quartz technology, featuring battery-powered movement that matches the precision timing of Swiss watches at a fraction of cost, would dominate the watch market by 1978. It’s a battle between Japanese brands and Swiss brands. But did you know quartz originated in, of all places, Switzerland? Max Hetzel, a Swiss engineer, was the first to develop an electronic wristwatch that relied on electrical charges. Because of their huge global market share Swiss watchmakers at that time thought little about quartz. It was the Japanese that  would innovate the technology and develop it into affordable electronic watches. The Swiss watch industry was reduced to a fraction of the quartz market. But thanks to nostalgia and the world’s newfound love for mechanical movement like the Swiss Army watches, it became a high-niche market.
