Summer jewels

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:00:30 AM in Phillips House (6)

Now that’s summer is on, expect more outdoor night parties by the beach. Attending outdoor glamorous events like gala nights or premiere cocktail parties, however, still requires that you exhibit formal wear matched with luxurious accessories. But put a twist to your getup by choosing a collection with a summer theme. For example, Phillips House Sunset features the natural colors of the sky against a setting sun. The collection is inspired by Fisher Island in Miami Beach, where the Phillips House designers behind the collection have spent weekend hangouts. The collection features hammered gold accented by diamonds and complement by colorful gemstones that mimic the sunset painting. From yellow to orange to black, the gemstones lend to the Sunset jewelry pieces a summer feel perfect for a glam night of dancing and drinking by the beach.

Disney Pandora charms

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:00:00 AM in Pandora (22)

Pandora has a new set of themes of late that you can start adding to your charm collection. Recently, the company partnered with Disney to create charms for some of the favorite Disney fairy tales. The Rapunzel charm is a silver dangle paired with lilac and magenta enamel, the color of Rapunzel’s dress in the movie. On the other hand, Ariel from the “Little Mermaid” is presented with glittery green enamel, suggesting life under the sea. Then there’s Cinderella’s pumpkin coach accented with cubic zirconia. Cinderella also gets another charm design, the Cinderella Dress in silver dangle with blue enamel. Meanwhile, we see an Ella Dress Silver Dangle and Anna Dress Silver Dangle inspired by “Frozen”. Snow White, Disney’s first princess, of course, gets her own Pandora: a silver dangle with yellow, red, and blue enamel.

The name is Bond

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:00:00 AM in Omega (26)

The Omega Seamaster Spectre 300 is a good addition to your collectible watches. This is a watch for keeps, not something you wear until it’s worn out. Omega releases Seamaster 300 Spectre as a limited edition to celebrate the latest James Bond movie, Spectre. The watch features the iconic elements of Omega, as well as updated and innovative edges to reflect Bond’s changing characteristics, too. The suave, elegant franchise character is now more aggressive and spontaneous, the same traits we see in the Omega watch. The dials are bold and punctuated by big number lines. The strap, no longer mirroring the classy stainless steel, instead is made of synthetic strap with the “007” gun icon. Still, the watch maintains an overall elegant appeal, as a more aggressive James Bond still loves drinking martini.

Mikimoto Pearl Island

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:15 AM in Mikimoto (29)

There’s a sense of peace when you look deep into a Mikimoto pearl. It draws you to the core, where a subtle glow teases you to dive in. Interestingly, the serenity you feel about Mikimoto pearls may have something to do with the location where they’ve been first cultivated. Dubbed the Mikimoto Pearl Island, the laidback place is located in Ise Bay in the Mie Prefecture in Japan. You can hear piped music filling the air here, complemented by the softness of the ocean breeze. Old women do free diving to harvest the pearls, a picturesque scene with their white overalls against the blue sea. They perform their duties while whistling capped by the occasional laughter among them. The whole place resonates in simplicity, but you feel elegance in it.

Bridal jewelry best practices

Posted by Schwarzschild at 9:00:00 AM in Mémoire Bouquet Jewelry (3)

Deciding the wedding gown is only half the battle won; you need to think about the bridal jewelry accessories that go with it and with your entourage’s style. Here are a few tips. Topmost is to make sure the metals match. Ivory is best matched with gold, while pure white looks good with silver or platinum. Pearls are also ideal for whites. Conversely, gold may clash with whites because both have “bright” elements. Another tip is to go for less than more. This is especially true for lavish gowns; you don’t want to overdo the overall look, so in this case, simpler wedding ring, earrings, necklace and bracelet will accentuate the gown, not fight it. If you’re on the plump size, choose jewelry pieces with curvy styles; they lend sexiness to your appearance. Mémoire Bouquet Jewelry offers a wide selection for your bridal jewelry ideas.

Bridal jewelry Donts when you say I Do

Posted by Schwarzschild at 9:00:00 AM in Mémoire Bridal (2)

Although you have the last say on choosing your bridal jewelry for the big day, there are a few tips to guide you from committing fashion blunders. These tips were collated from wedding gown designers and planners who have had seen enough of similar mistakes done by over-excited clients. First, don’t wear a necklace when you’re wearing a one-shoulder gown. The asymmetrical look is already a statement that a necklace can ruin. Likewise, don’t wear a watch, no matter how luxurious it is. A watch will only occupy skin space that can be allotted to a more appropriate bridal jewelry piece. Also, don’t overdo your bridal accessories. Remember, what is simple is more beautiful. Lastly, don’t follow a trend if it clashes with your personal style. It’s your day, your style.
