F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Reloaded

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:00:25 AM in Luminox (3)

Over twenty years ago, Luminox was requested by US Air Force to create watches for its F-117 Nighthawk Stealth jets pilots. The company, founded by watch expert Barry Cohen and Richard Timbo, created the first F-117 watch 3400 series. Collaborating with the stealth jet's maker, Lockheed Martin, the original watch was made, in a 43mm black PVD plated stainless steel casing that featured F-117 Nighthawk Stealth jet engraving. A next version also came out, but with a stronger, more angular style that is closer to the imposing look of the actual jet. A third more imposing version was recently launched in the new Luminox F-117 Nighthawk watch, which has new features as the sporty chic aerodynamic shapes of the updated Lockheed Martin jet.

Hot jewelry fad

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:00:00 AM in Marco Bicego (29)

Marco Bicego says that its breathtaking new Masai rings are likely the fashionista’s current obsession. Why so? Taking inspiration from the intricate bodily ornaments designed and worn by the Masai tribe of Africa, every piece is carefully designed in 18k gold hand-coiled strands. This allows every Masai piece—from rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets—to painstakingly adjust to the body’s contours, thus enabling styles for single or group wear. Using the corda di chitarra method, Marco Bicego craftsmen meticulously join every layer of hand-coiled gold strands to produce modern-day, elegant patterns further improved with scintillating diamond detail in the shape of cushion paves in several jewelry collections. There is simply something for everyone, from the subtle to the bold fashionistas, from the single and multi-strand necklaces to the splendidly bold 11-strand crossover diamond bracelet.

When tiny means Huge

Posted by Schwarzschild at 4:40:00 AM in Longines (2)

To keep up with its long custom of classic sophistication, Longines recently introduced the Longines Mini, the famous brand’s tinniest timepiece to date. This ultra-delicate jewelry timepiece is the noted Swiss watchmaker’s latest offering in its already deep and astounding line of women’s watches. In line with the “small of beautiful” fad, the Longines Mini is spruced up with scintillating diamonds and placed on similarly dazzling straps—from bright red to trendy beige, subtle lavender to stylish black—that will likely entice women who consider grace in the minute details. The lively profusion of colors of this tiny yet extensively elegant watch will allow each woman to complement outfits for everyday use, which its vintage design makes it perfect even for special occasions. The elements of this new line will definitely elicit jealous glimpses from others.

How to keep your jewelry clean

Posted by Schwarzschild at 4:00:25 AM in Lagos (7)

Who doesn’t want the alluring sparkle and shine of a new jewelry piece? It’s a reality that after buying a new jewelry or watch, it will lose its radiance and shine over time. Good thing, though, that knowing how to properly care for your beloved jewelry will not only preserve its pristine appearance, but also to keep it almost brand new looking, perfect for those meant to be heirlooms for generations to come. The best practice to start with is to always store your piece in a clean, dry place. Don’t store your jewelry directly with other pieces, keep it separated to prevent tarnish and scratches. Likewise, polish your jewelry regularly to restrain any residue from building up. Finally, never wear any jewelry, particularly sterling silver, when taking a shower or when swimming as water tends to have impurities that stain jewelry. And good news, for every Lagos jewelry that you buy, every piece comes with a cleaning unit—made up of a suede pouch and cleansing cloth—so use it to your advantage and peace of mind.

The Elegance of Kirk Kara

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:00 AM in Kirk Kara (28)

If you think price is the only measure of an impressive diamond wedding ring, you cannot be farther from the truth. Price is the effect, not the cause, of an exclusive diamond ring. Take for instance, Kirk Kara. It is easily one of the most expensive diamond rings, and its price is justified by superb jewelry-craftsmanship and the use of world-class diamonds and gemstones. Particularly, the Dahlia Collection is regal, an array of diamond pieces fit for the queen. Kirk Kara has been creating one-of-a-kind jewelry for more than a century now, which reflects is expertise and knowledge about diamond wedding rings. Nothing perhaps corroborates this when the signature won the 2013 Jeweler’s Choice Awards, following it dominance of the bridal category for six consecutive years.

Jewelry and the Arts

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:00 AM in Konstantino (28)

Although many diamond jewelry signatures focus on the use of the most exclusive gemstones and precious metals to exude their luxurious appeal, a few jewelry brands have a different approach in branding: they lend to the wearer a cultural and heritage allure. Brands like Konstantino, which creates stunning jewelry pieces inspired by the arts and culture of ancient Greece and Byzantine. What is unique about this signature is that, if you love to travel or enjoy culture and literature, the style and design highlight your aspiration to be a jetsetter. The stunning collections include the Hebe Collection, Iliada Collection, and Orpheus Men’s Collection. Apart from wearing a luxury brand, when you wear a Konstantino, you showcase your sophisticated taste for the arts. This separates Konstantino from other luxury brands.

Konstantino is available at Schwarzschild's on Alverser Drive and at Short Pump Town Center.

Less is More

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:40 AM in JB Star (2)

Just like in most things about life, less is more in wearing jewelry. No matter how brilliant the diamond is, or precious the platinum is, if you wear too many pieces you’d look like a walking Christmas tree. You wouldn’t want to be mistaken, too, of some old-fashioned nobility transported from the Victorian Age. Wearing less is effective because, like in fine dining where you eat each course one at a time, the beautiful jewelry piece is highlighted. Curious eyes can only see one too many glittering diamonds, so by wearing just one ring, for instance, you draw these prying eyes towards that one single magnificent item. So next time you drool over a luxury jewelry brand like JB Star, don’t wear a lot at once. Savor each piece for different occasions.

Oh, those Simple Days

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:00 AM in John Hardy (27)

Remember the times when you were carefree in your twenties, and your style leaned on the mystical, natural, and folkloric influences? You’d go backpacking around the world with the simplest means, and you fell in love with anything organic. The leather bracelet with some bamboo accents was all that you like as accessory. But as you grew older and your career started to take off, you began to indulge in the more luxurious parts of life. You learned to appreciate precious metals, finer wines, fine dining, and the like. Now in your mid-thirties or early forties, you’ve all forgotten about how cheap life was. Deep inside you still crave for the simple life, the natural, organic, cheap stuff. As far as your accessories go, you can still do that without compromising luxury. Signatures like John Hardy brings you back to your backpacking days, the bamboo accents, without you having to leave the luxurious comfort of life.
