She Will Say Yes to This Kirk Kara Treasure!

Posted by Schwarzschild at 12:00:00 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

Buying just the right engagement ring is always a momentous decision, but if you are searching for something that will speak directly to your intended’s heart and stand apart from any other possibility, the Kirk Kara Charlotte sapphire and diamond engagement ring is a stellar choice.

It is a product of the Kirk Kara house of design, a family-owned business that has been crafting breathtaking jewelry since 1890. Kirk Kara began learning the craft of jewelry making in 1965, when he was still a teenager in high school, and the technology and automation that we enjoy today weren’t yet dreamed of. He learned the craft from beginning to end, from hand-drawn designs, to the selection of just the right stones, to carving and setting them and engraving, all done by hand. Kirk Kara’s Angelique ring, intended for wearing on the right hand, was inspired by his mother, whose name, of course, was Angelique. From his earliest experiences in design, he has said, he had always envisioned the Angelique line in her honor.

Kirk Kara is also well known for his use of gem stones of varying colors, in addition to just diamonds. His feeling has always been that nature’s own color choices could reflect a woman’s personality, and their selection made the choice of a particular piece that much more meaningful. The Charlotte collection, and in particular, the Charlotte sapphire and diamond engagement ring is no exception.

It lacks nothing in appeal, with 1/3 cwt of diamonds, offset by 2 brilliant sapphires and enhanced by milgrain edging and hand-carved scroll work. You may also select the optional one carat round diamond.

Kirk Kara Stella Split Shank Engagement Ring

Posted by Schwarzschild at 9:28:10 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

The elegant Stella collection by Kirk Kara once again demonstrates the depth of artistry this designer builds into every piece from his studio. This featured engagement ring boasts the handcrafted details of 1/5 ctw of peek-a-boo and channel set diamonds in the Kirk Kara signature filigree, finished with a milgrain edging. Presented in either platinum or gold, the glamorous setting is the perfect surrounding for a 1.5 carat round stone as an available option. Made to be paired with the matching Stella wedding band, its split shank and details ensure that its beauty is displayed from all angles, leaving a breathtaking impression of light and opulence.

The timeless beauty of Kirk Karaguezian's work is the continuation of a family tradition of artistry that his grandfather initiated near the end of the 19th century. In the small workshop where he began the multi-generational family business, he developed a reputation for creating elegant, precisely hand engraved jewelry. Drawing his inspirations from his familiarity with quality carvings of the Armenian culture, he was the first of a line of Karaguezians who carried the torch and grew the enterprise while maintaining the integrity of the quality work that was established early on.

Classic Elegance for the Modern Groom

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:48:30 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

Nothing better signifies the bond between man and wife than an exquisite men's wedding band from the Artin collection. This sand-finished criss cross patterned ring speaks volumes about your taste and style. Available in gold or platinum, in multiple widths, it is an expression of love you'll be proud to wear. The Artin collection offers a variety of designs that are hand-engraved. Inspired by classic styles from the past, today’s pieces are the elegant result of artistic re-workings of extraordinary ideas from the age of elegance.

That era at the end of the 19th century saw the beginnings of a family tradition of artistry. Kirk Karaguezian’s grandfather opened a workshop for designing and producing hand engraved jewelry of precision and elegance. He took the inspiration for his work from fine carvings representative of the Armenian culture.

Following the grandfather’s 1915 death in the Armenian Genocide, Kirk’s father, Artin, escaped to Beirut, Lebanon where he continued to build the family‘s reputation for craftsmanship. Demand for their work grew rapidly.

As he traveled widely through Europe, he became enamored with its aesthetics and his designs began to incorporate the European styles. In his journeys, Artin met and fell in love with Angel, whom he married. For the occasion, he designed for his bride a stunning wedding band engraved by hand. This creation was to be the inspiration for all future Kirk Kara pieces.

The Kirk Kara tradition of excellence and beauty continues today with each piece being handcrafted, ensuring that each is unique. A serial number on every Kirk Kara ring guarantees that it is a genuine work of their Master Craftsmen. This men's wedding band is not just a striking statement of commitment; it is an original and timeless work of art made just for you.

Kirk Kara Angelique Engagement Ring

Posted by Schwarzschild at 8:36:27 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

When you think about a typical engagement ring, the emphasis is on the central stone. The Angelique engagement ring from Kirk Kara turns the entire piece into a work of art, as the band is just as gorgeous as the stone in the center. The band swirls and sparkles with 1/8 ctw of diamonds and 1/6 ctw of blue sapphires. The signature handcrafted milgrain edging blends beautifully with the smaller stones to create a sense of vivacious energy that matches the love that the two of you feel for one another.

Choose a stone for the central setting that fits your vision for the ring. A 1-carat round stone blends perfectly with the curvature in the rest of the ring, but select the stone that matches what you want for the ring. Available in both platinum and gold, this is the ring that you should give to the most wonderful woman in the world.

The Elegance of Kirk Kara

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:00 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

If you think price is the only measure of an impressive diamond wedding ring, you cannot be farther from the truth. Price is the effect, not the cause, of an exclusive diamond ring. Take for instance, Kirk Kara. It is easily one of the most expensive diamond rings, and its price is justified by superb jewelry-craftsmanship and the use of world-class diamonds and gemstones. Particularly, the Dahlia Collection is regal, an array of diamond pieces fit for the queen. Kirk Kara has been creating one-of-a-kind jewelry for more than a century now, which reflects is expertise and knowledge about diamond wedding rings. Is it wise to go trendy?

Posted by Schwarzschild at 9:00:00 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

Engagement rings shouldn’t be trendy because trendiness implies that one day your ring may go out of style. That’s not something you want to happen with something you’re going to wear...forever. Still, many couples, especially celebrities, go for the latest fashion in engagement and wedding rings. The most popular these days? The halo setting, which showcases a single stone surrounded by smaller brilliant cut diamonds. A triple setting is also fashionably modern, featuring three stones instead of one. This style expresses more luxury; thus, it’s popular among those who want more grandeur in their wedding. Then there are the fancy cuts, such as emerald, pear, and oval. It evokes a more personal touch to the ring. But if you’re a stickler for tradition and timeless elegance, there’s always a Kirk Kara for you.

Is there a Forever?

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:00:00 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

Social media nowadays are full of news, questions, and issues that concern the most mundane to the utterly most complicated. Many of these concerns, without doubt, refer to ubiquitous things like falling in and out of love and other relationship ups and downs of ordinary people like you and I. Another common interest is the question if there is indeed the so-called "true love" in this life or it just happens in fairy tales. Despite the seeming increase in divorces all over the world, there are some lucky couples who are blessed enough to find true love, to be with their "forever". In 1934, fledging jewelry maker Artin Karaguezian made his very first rings for his upcoming wedding to his fiancée, Angel. Through these hand engraved pieces the two started their journey to "forever". These very rings also heralded the birth of one of the most successful jewelry makers of all time, Kirk Kara

We’re less romantic now?

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:23:42 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

Recent surveys found that more Americans are living by their lonesome today than over two decades ago. In 1970, the percentage of single households in the U.S. was 17%. In 2012 it’s 27%. In case we want a companion, we either sleep with our phones or our pet. Moreover 69% of Americans are unsure whether an outing with someone they liked was a date or not. But the most disturbing, although funny, fact is more Americans admitted they can’t live without their phone (26%) than sex (20%). It’s time Americans get romance back to their lives. Date someone you like. Give her flowers. Go see a movie. And if things develop into something more serious, give her a Kirk Kara. Thank God for diamond rings.

How to cry in your wedding

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:58:48 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

It may be advisable for guys to shed a few drops while she’s making her speech vow if only to show her how emotionally involved you are in her most important day. So guys, let’s count the ways to wet the eyes a bit. One, think of the saddest moment that — no, not in your life — you saw in movies where you felt sad. Two, imagine that day when your favorite hockey team lost to its archrival by a hairline. Three, tuck your hands in your trouser pocket, and pinch your cr——a little and stealthily (just a bit!); you’re sure to reflect a guy in emotional agony. If that won’t work or too harsh, try this: put a menthol rub in your pocket and in the middle of her speech, slightly rub your finger with menthol and put a little of it below your eye pretending you’re about to cry. Now imagine the drama of you crying while she slips a Kirk Kara on your finger.

A Ring is Worth a Thousand Meanings

Posted by Schwarzschild at 7:51:06 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

The wedding ring speaks of volumes of meanings to both the giver and receiver. It provides a quick benchmark on the financial security of the man, while it reflects the perceived beauty of the woman. The spherical shape of the band itself suggests the infinity of the couple’s commitment to each other or that their love for each other is infinite. The metal, whether in gold, sterling silver or platinum, reflects the strength of love, while the gemstone mirrors the worth of the woman’s love. It’s the reason why the wealthy and royalty want nothing less than a perfect ring for their fiancée. In such cases, a Kirk Kara ring is not uncommon to be a favorite among these people. It is the signature diamond ring that raises love to new heights.

Small wedding ideas

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:31:29 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

Weddings are made even more memorable when your guests are involved. Beyond impressing them with the grandeur of the ceremony or your Kirk Kara diamond ring, getting your guests into the action makes a real treat. For example, ask some of your musically talented guests to lead the others in a musical parade. The parade can be a short walk to the venue. Or, you can ask guests to recite a vow (a prepared script for them should be handy) with questions like, “Do you guests promise to support our newly married couple when they need support?” They can reply, “Yes, we do.” Here’s a simple but symbolic way to make guests wish your marriage well: Put a wishing basket in a center area with small stones around it. Guests can pick a stone, whisper their wish and put it in a basket. The couple can even take these stones home for posterity.

The Second best day in my life

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:04:24 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

The day when my husband proposed to me twenty-five years ago was the second best day of my life. I knew he’d be proposing that day, but I kept my silence thinking it would be fun to see him nervously spill out his emotions (and some sweat with it). It’s a simple proposal; we’re in a quaint pizzeria and as soon as we were finished with dinner, he took out a small box, while I pretended to be nervous. Then he opened it, and there’s a Kirk Kara inside. I didn’t know he’d go to lengths to give me a truly luxurious ring, but there it was staring at me, the precious minute diamonds of Kirk Kara. This caught me off guard, and soon enough, he was the one having a fun time teasing me, while I stiffened up and tried to hide my quiet sobs and looking foolishly like a child given a candy. It was the second best day of my life, indeed. All the rest with him after marriage, I say, they’re the best.

Mumbling Memories

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:20:57 PM in Kirk Kara (30)

Like most men probably, I thought about the exact words to say when I proposed to my wife many years ago. I couldn’t remember the exact words now, but I do remember memorizing each word in the right sequence. I spent three days crafting the best words, combing some and dropping some. I wanted it to go beyond the usual, “Will you marry me?” Besides, I thought to prepare a long speech, something that would encapsulate my long and inexhaustible feelings for her. And like most men probably, I bungled my words on the proposal day. I knew I was in trouble when I couldn’t make out my message. I was reduced to mumbling to myself while my wife, who had inkling about the proposal, was just looking amused and entertained. What saved the day? My Kirk Kara engagement ring. Whatever dignity I lost mumbling like a child, Kirk Kara made me look sophisticated at once.

One engaging piece

Posted by Schwarzschild at 10:57:25 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

Ellen has had a rough day. She went in late, was swamped by office work, and her boss was grouchy all day. At four o’clock, David called. He wanted to see her, about what she had no idea. She considered declining but thought better. She immediately saw David when she got inside the restaurant. They were talking when the waiter came with champagne. It was turning out to be a good day after all. The toast came and she heard the clink from inside her glass. What she saw made her heart jump. It was a ring, and not just any ring. Ellen stared at the Kirk Kara Stella Collection engagement ring like a moth seeing a naked flame for the first time, a natural reaction given the craftsmanship responsible for the creation. Handcrafted to perfection, this engagement band comes in sterling silver or 18K gold. Each piece is crowned by a diamond, giving it that look of luxury.

Days of dahlia

Posted by Schwarzschild at 10:09:56 AM in Kirk Kara (30)

The dahlia was first discovered by the western world in Mexico in 1525. Known for the beauty of its flower, the plant is known to have been used by Mexico’s indigenous peoples both as a food source and medicine. Philip II’s physician, Francisco Hernandez described two varieties of dahlias—the Dahlia pinnata and the Dahlia imperialis. This versatile plant not only exudes beauty but a high degree of usefulness as well. Noted jeweler Kirk Kara pays tribute to this magnificent plant in its Dahlia Collection. This handmade collection of rings comes in platinum and different shades of 18K gold. The pieces’ design details are second to none, having been handcrafted by highly-capable artisans. Style and luxury is what comes to mind when one sees these marvelous rings.
