It’s about culture

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:00:00 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

Roberto Coin isn’t just jewelry, it’s all about culture. In fact, one of its inspirations is the fashion trend of the seventies, particularly how fearless women stood out during the period. The era was marked by big and natural hair, flowing maxi dresses, bold sunglasses, and high-rise bell bottoms, among others. It’s a time to be confident, outgoing, and brave. Today, Roberto Coin captures the retro trend with the Devon Fenestra style. It mimics the 1970s bohemian culture that is at once feminine and bold. Likewise, Roberto Coin follows Jamie Vine’s progressive aura with layered necklaces punctuated by a shortened pendant. Then there’s the Cece dangling earring that complements retro hair curls. Meanwhile, the Andrea Zito showcases a classic hoop and chain link necklace for the right balance of masculinity and female sexiness.

Roberto Coin is available at Schwarzschild's on Alverser Drive and at Short Pump Town Center and Carry Town.

Tiny is Big

Posted by Schwarzschild at 9:50:00 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

Great things do come from small beginnings. This is indeed a very inspiring thought that many great minds and creative individuals collectively share. Van Gogh believed that, "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." Acclaimed novelist Barbara Pym also has this stirring quote, “The small things of life were often so much bigger than the great things…the trivial pleasure like cooking, one's home, little poems especially sad ones, solitary walks, funny things seen and overheard.” One of the biggest names in jewelry, Roberto Coin, is also an ardent believer of the inherent power of small things. The premier Italian jeweler's Tiny Treasures collection is a set of amusing 18k diamond and gold pendants that are astoundingly elegant and stylish.

Empathy, secret to relationship

Posted by Schwarzschild at 12:00:00 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Even as giving her a Roberto Coin ring is sure to make any woman happy, there are other more subtle (and less expensive ways) to make her happy. After all, happiness is key to a lasting relationship, a clue that both partners are at peace with each other. One of the most important things that you should learn is to empathize. This is different from sympathy, which is feeling sorry for her. Empathy means seeing things from her point of view. For instance, if she's angry because you're late, when you empathize, you understand that reasoning out will only aggravate the situation. Instead a sincere apology with a soft kiss can dampen her anger. The more you learn how to empathize the closer you get to her and the more realistic that the two of you become one.

One Roberto Coin

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:20:20 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Since the brand’s introduction in 1977 it has been regarded as a brand to watch by fashion-forward connoisseurs, celebrities and enthusiasts. The brand that is referred to here is Roberto Coin, a name eponymous to the designer; a name that is synonymous to elegant and classy designs. There is no other jewelry that could come close to a Roberto Coin design. Roberto Coin is regarded as one of the most creative designers around, he backs this up by creating pieces that nobody dares imitate. Even when doing a rendition to something familiar like a lion head design, Roberto Coin does it his way – with the skillful manipulation of precious stones and metal with classical roots of beauty exuding a modern sensibility.

Turn Heads with Roberto Coin

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:23:33 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Roberto Coin has been known in the luxury jewelry world as a genius. And his designs speak of him too in that manner and with those words. Roberto Coin, the man and the company, has been an innovator since 1977. One of his most memorable contributions was the pioneering of the use of three-color gold in 1978.
Roberto Coin is a master of shapes made of precious metals and stones and how they adorn the human body. With forward-thinking design and artisanal craftsmanship, Roberto Coin has muddled the lines that separate timeless and modern designs. One thing that didn’t change though as Roberto Coin continuously reinvents himself to evolve the brand is that he places a hidden 0.3 carat ruby in every piece – ruby is known to bring luck.

What does it mean when you gift someone a pen?

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:39:39 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

The meanings can be as varied as your mind is creative. When jewelry gift ideas tend to be repetitive or a little stretched out, giving a pen as a gift can be creative. A pen symbolizes intellect. If you’re giving it to an academician it bestows respect to his profession and recognition of his important role. To a girl with the inclination to write diary entries like Bridget, a gift of pen signifies nostalgia, a recollection of memories. To a writer, a pen stands for introspection, the ability to see things differently or in a deeper level. You’ll be glad to know that Roberto Coin, yes, the Italian jewelry signature, has a line of Art Deco-inspired pens in metal with printed patterns. Give it a try.

The Italian attention to dress up well

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:59:35 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

La bella figura. It’s the art of Italian fashion, the attention to dressing up neat and chic. Italians are renowned to mind their outfit whether on a weekend family affair or a formal dress party. They are even known to be consciously aware of dressing up for the occasion, even if you’re the police. One famous luxury brand outfitted the Italian police force with elegant trench coats as winter uniform. It’s no surprise that even in jewelry Italian designers are passionate about style. Like Roberto Coin, the signature made luxury jewelry into an art form. Intricate weaving and contrasting colors, textures and styles, these are the standard features in a Roberto Coin. From bracelets to brooches, earrings to rings, and necklaces to pendants, Roberto Coin has that Italian flair for la bella figura

How to wear a brooch

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:17:45 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Brooches are nice little luxury pieces that can add elegance to your overall appearance. But don’t just wear them randomly; there’s an art in wearing brooches if you want to express a sophisticated fashion taste and not a clumsy attempt to look fashionable. First, look for brooches with designs that you’re comfortable with, such as flowers, butterflies and animals. Don’t force yourself to wear one that you hate. It will look gawky on you even if you don’t say it. Second, pay attention to the general feel of the brooch. Make sure it doesn’t hamper your clothing or your movement. Third, collect brooches. The fun part is in mixing and matching brooches with varied clothing so you appear more exciting and fresh. Even old brooches can be reused with new ones as long as you balance the tone and look. An excellent starting point is with Roberto Coin’s finely crafted butterfly brooches.

Passionately Italian

Posted by Schwarzschild at 9:33:31 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

Mention the word “Italian” and most people would likely think of its rich culture, historical sites, connoisseur wine, and, of course, Italian cuisine. Pizza, gelato, tiramisu, risotto, mortadella, spumoni, mozzarella, cannoli, spaghetti, parmigiano-reggiano, and the list goes on. Why is Italian food so delectable and irresistible? The answer is because of the Italian’s propensity to do things passionately. This is also the inspiration behind the world-acclaimed Italian jewelry maker Robert Coin’s Appasionata Collection. The crafty basket weave design in this signature collection, which used ribbed, interlocking gold links, makes Appasionata pieces to appear to have animated, fabric-like motion. A definite stand-out is the Appassionata 3-Row Diamond Bracelet, which features an exquisite 18 carat 3-row yellow and white gold bracelet with diamonds.

A Valentine Surpise

Posted by Schwarzschild at 8:01:21 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

It’s one of those Roberto Coin “fairy tale” moments that we’ve heard. It was Valentine's Day and a young couple was walking along the cobblestone streets just after a quaint dinner date. The man was apologizing repeatedly for the simple nature of their date. The girl was indifferent at first, but as the man continued his stream of apologies she grew rather annoyed. The girl cut off the man's latest apology as the two found themselves in front of a jewelry shop. The man pointed to a Roberto Coin Martellato 18 karat yellow gold ring. The ring brilliantly reflected an array of dazzling colors from outside. In turn, the bright colors enhanced its gold shades. The girl forgot herself as she imagined wearing the ring on a bright evening. "As I was saying,” said the man, please forgive me for not showing this to you earlier, pulling out a Roberto Coin from his pocket. You see, I wanted to save it as a surprise." The ring reflects the girl's radiant smile.

Yellow fever

Posted by Schwarzschild at 7:22:18 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

When Indian investor Datta Phuge thought of wearing a golden jewelry, he was literally thinking of wearing it. He wears a shirt made of gold weighing more than three kilograms of yellow gold and valued at $240,000. It’s truly a showcase of unabashed opulence; but the only drawback when wearing this shirt for Phuge is that he trots along with security escorts lest he goes home half-naked. For more sensible people who love yellow gold, Roberto Coin creates a stunning line of limited edition bracelets. Inspired by the traditional basket weave pattern, Roberto Coin creates these luxurious bracelets that are at once bold and delicate. The patterns can be an illusion of closely knitted weave or a loose pattern; either style is guaranteed to merit a gawking eye.

Roberto Coin Exhibits Italian Flair

Posted by Schwarzschild at 3:48:31 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Italian jewelry seems to have an edge in their designs. Not precision machineries nor state-of-the-art technology, but a deep passion in their art that guided the hands behind the crafting of high-end Italian jewelry. Roberto Coin exemplifies this typical Italian flair that dates back from the Roman sculptures, through the Renaissance paintings, and to this day of contemporary Italian stylistic approach. Wearing a Roberto Coin is almost like wearing art on you. You become the canvass of his masterpiece. His line of jewelry, from bracelets to necklaces and earrings, are trendy without being outlandish. Both his signature thin golden strings and wide silver and gold rims exude the Roberto Coin eccentricity but grounded on true Italian passion.

Animalistic Elegance

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:39:14 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Roberto Coin is known to create unique jewelry masterpieces that are outright creative, if not provocative. One piece that is undeniably a talk of the town is the Animalier Ring. Set in 18k white gold with blue sapphires, tsavorites and diamonds, this ring is crafted to the semblance of a chameleon. Gemstones are randomly spread across the animal’s body of white gold to depict a color-changing characteristic. The wide eyes are filled with small diamond studs and accented by a blue sapphire. The twisting band wraps around the finger securely with a tease. Wearing the Animalier Ring lends a glamour and creative sophistication to, not only your hand, but your overall aura. Yet again only Roberto Coin can tame an otherwise scandalous artistic take into something elegant and alluring.

Unleash the animal in you

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:20:46 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Roberto Coin's Animalier collection is probably the legendary Venetian designer's most frolicsome creation to date. Why so? Characterized by a spirited peagantry of peculiar color, caprice, radiance, and charisma, Animalier covers an extraordinary line-up of innovative designs featuring insects and animals made glamorous and elegant. Employing gold, enamel, silver and diamonds (occasionally with tiger's eye, onyx and others), Roberto Coin's nonpareil ingenuity had transformed ants, scorpions, octopuses, horses and fishes into breathtaking accents for every attire that fits any occasion. Designed to unleash the vibrant spirit natural to each person, each Animalier piece has a ruby secretly placed somewhere within, both as a symbol of protection and as Roberto Coin's signature.

A Contrast of creative outbursts

Posted by Schwarzschild at 11:14:44 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

Why do Italians have a flair for design? The high-end jewellery brand, Roberto Coin, is but one case how Italian designers create passion out of art. It’s almost in their blood to outdo themselves, a trait that dates back from Roman artisans through the Renaissance artists to contemporary artists like Roberto Coin. When you wear a Roberto Coin piece, it’s like wearing an art heritage moulded into modern style. His works have confident craftsmanship, trendy without succumbing to fly-by-night style. The Roberto Coin bracelets exemplify this creative outburst. They are as varied as thin, vulnerable golden strings accented by gems, as they can be boldly wide in silver and gold. They can be as smooth, gleaming and slender, as they are crafted with intricate links that run around the bracelet. The ideas are eccentric yet grounded on reality. That’s Roberto Coin for you.

Ravishing rubies

Posted by Schwarzschild at 2:43:19 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

Of all the gemstones known to man, only the ruby is known for its vivid scarlet hue. The gem's red color is attributed to the presence of the element chromium. Rubies are valued based on their color, with the pigeon blood-red deemed as the most expensive variety. Also of important consideration in ruby valuation are clarity and weight. Being such, this precious stone is one of the most popular materials used in jewelry making. Noted jeweler Roberto Coin is known for using this precious gem in all of his creations, adorning his pieces with the red hue offered by the ruby. Bracelets, bangles, necklaces and earrings, fashioned from the finest metals, all bear the beauty of the stone. Roberto Coin never fails to amaze with his creations, especially women who enjoy wearing beauty and elegance.

Let's talk bracelets

Posted by Schwarzschild at 1:29:46 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

The term “bracelet” came from the Greek word "brachile" which means "of the arm." This piece of adornment dates as far back as 5000 BCE in Egypt. Initially serving as religious and spiritual symbols, they eventually became not only as object of beautification, but also gained some degree of cultural significance in many countries. In Greece and Bulgaria, there exist traditions where the wearing of bracelets is required during certain times of the year. But celebrated jeweler Roberto Coin brings a different tradition in creating such a piece. Its Appasionata bracelet is crafted in the designer's tradition of highly-skilled craftsmanship and excellent quality. Woven in fine gold, this piece is borne of pure art and sophistication. It's a special creation reserved for special women.

Hail to the king

Posted by Schwarzschild at 12:18:45 PM in Roberto Coin (25)

The lion has always been a symbol of strength and grandeur in cultures spanning Europe, Africa and Asia. Being an icon of royalty and stateliness, the lion has always been viewed as the “king of the jungle.” In art, the oldest known depiction of this noble beast can be found in Germany, where the sculpture of a lion believed to be 40,000 years old can still be seen. This universal admiration for this mighty animal may be due to its reputation of being at the top of the food chain. Celebrated jewelry maker Roberto Coin captures all the attributes of the lion in its Lion Collection. This line of fine jewelry is made up of exquisitely crafted gold pieces. The detailed design can only be construed as a form of homage to this stately creature.

Taming the tiger

Posted by Schwarzschild at 10:27:47 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

Tigers are majestic creatures. The largest of the feline family, these overgrown cats roam a vast stretch of the Asian continent. As territorial and solitary tigers are, they have been found to be highly social animals. Tigers have always been the subject of mythology and folklore, and constantly appear in motion pictures. However, tigers’ need for living environments that could support their prey requirements and the increase in human population have resulted in conflicts between the species. These grand creatures are honoured in renowned jeweller Roberto Coin’s Tiger Bangle. A part of the designer’s Animallier Collection, this piece features a tiger’s head mounted on 18K rose gold. It also boasts of black, white and cognac diamonds, complimenting the detailed animal design.

Cattle curiosities

Posted by Schwarzschild at 6:00:00 AM in Roberto Coin (25)

Cows in some cultures are revered animals. In India’s Hindu religion, these large domestic ungulates are venerated like mothers for the milk they provide. They are mentioned prominently in Hindu scriptures, appearing in many stories from the Puranas and Vedas. For such reason, members of the Hindu religion abstain from eating beef. The killing of cows is also viewed as a nefarious act among Hindus. But for people of the West, cows are a vital source of nutrition. Dairy products are sourced from cows’ milk while majority of the beef available in the market are gleaned from cow meat. Noted jewelry designer Roberto Coin pays tribute to this versatile animal in its Cow Black and White Diamond Bangle. This piece showcases an 18K rose and white gold cow bangle accented with black and white diamonds. It’s a great find, not only for animal lovers, but for those with good taste in luxury jewelry as well.
