A Preview of Our Annual Estate Event
A Preview of Our Annual Estate Event

It’s that time of year - when the days get a little shorter, the heat starts to subside and pumpkin flavored everything can be seen featured in coffee shops and restaurants all across the Charlottesville area. Like the colors of the leaves, this year’s fashion trends are beginning to change as your favorite designers are releasing new must-haves. Or in this case old must-haves…

This year we’ve seen trends of the past making a comeback on the runway and, in honor, we decided to craft a special event to bring fashion week to you. Our annual estate event is a culmination of a year spent searching for the rarest finds in existence - everything ornate Edwardian pendants to architecturally inspired drop earrings from the Art Deco period.

Every piece has a story and a history, whether decades old or slightly more contemporary. To get you excited for the showcase, we’ve compiled a sneak peek of a few our favorites before their release tomorrow at our Millmont Street location.

Opal and Ruby estate brooch

Sneak Peek #1 - Opal and Ruby Brooch

For many years, the brooch has been overlooked and left to collect dust in jewelry boxes or found in catch-all bins at neighborhood flea markets. But now they’ve come back with a bang, showing up as statement accessories on the runways of Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Suno, Edun, Balenziaga and more. This platinum brooch from our Estate collection features a vibrant 3-carat triangular opal at the center that is encircled by 1.5 carats of round rubies and diamonds.

Emerald and diamond dangle earrings

Sneak Peek #2 - Emerald and Diamond Drop Earrings

2018 fall jewelry trends are all about maximum drama from the neck-up and these platinum and yellow gold earrings definitely bring the heat. They feature 16 pear-shaped green emeralds and 94 diamonds with a total weight of 7.59 carats. They also feature clip backs with optional posts so anyone can wear them!

Tiffany gold bracelet

Sneak Peek #3 - Tiffany & Co. Vintage Link Bracelet

Since 1837, Tiffany & Co. has pushed the boundaries of women’s fashion with in-house designers like Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso. Their pieces simply not only become staples in women’s wardrobes, but icons recognized across the world. A truly rare find - this bracelet from Tiffany & Co. features the company’s signature “Block 8” link pattern handcrafted from 18k yellow gold. There is also a fold over hidden clasp for extra security.

Ruby and onyx art deco ring

Sneak Peek #4 - Ruby and Onyx Art Deco Ring

The Art Deco design movement arose internationally in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s in juxtaposition to the sweeping curves, pastel colors, and ornate, nature-inspired motifs of the Art Nouveau movement that preceded it. The movement spanned all areas of design, from the architecture of buildings to the craftsmanship of fine jewelry and originals, are highly sought after today. This platinum ring from our Estate collection features a 1.25 carat round center diamond surrounded by an octagon made of 20 rubies and 24 onyx.

Opal and diamond bracelet

Sneak Peek #5 - Opal and Diamond Bracelet (Converts to a Necklace!)

Opals were a celebrated stone throughout the eclectic Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements in the early 20th century. They are extremely rare today because of low supply and highly sought after as women like Princess Kate Middleton adorn them regularly. This bracelet is made from 14k yellow gold and sterling silver and features an optional black satin strap that easily converts it to a choker necklace. The versatility of this piece highlights the incredible 4.5-carat black opal at its center. The opal is accented by 4.4 carats of Old European cut diamonds for extra sparkle.
