Richmond, VA: Schwarzschild Jewelers is proud to announce the Grand Opening of its flagship location at Carytown Exchange on December 8, 2023. This momentous occasion marks the relocation of the esteemed jeweler from Cary Court Park & Shop to the heart of Carytown, celebrating the charm and character of this vibrant shopping area in Richmond.
The Grand Opening on December 8th will coincide with a LAGOS trunk show, just in time for the holiday season. “We can’t wait to host our customers in our new space celebrating the store opening partnership with some of our favorite vendors (and neighbors!) in Richmond - Coalesce Coffee Co., Burton’s Grill, and Tidewater Cellars.”
Schwarzschild Jewelers has a rich history in Richmond, making its retail history in 1954 as one of the first downtown stores to open in the city’s burgeoning West End. The new 5500 sq. ft. custom-built location in Carytown Exchange, flanked by high-end retails such as J.P. Morgan Chase, anchors the main building facing Cary Street.
Selected with customer convenience in mind, the new location enhances Schwarzschild Jewelers’ prominent presence in one of Richmond’s most dynamic shopping districts. “One of the features we are most excited about in our new space in Carytown Exchange is the convenience for our customers. Easy access from 195, Windsor Farms and James River with ample parking,” said Ren Schiffman, Store Manager of Schwarzschild Jewelers at Carytown Exchange.
The exterior, paying homage to Carytown’s eclectic nature, showcases a dark blue hue. The modern and elegant 5500 sq. ft. space at Carytown Exchange, built-out by Scot Ryan of Riverstone Inc., reflects Schwarzschild’s commitment to customer service. Boasting state-of-the- art displays, boutiques from global watch and jewelry brands such as TUDOR and Wellendorff, a built-in hospitality bar, and on-site jeweler and watchmaker for quick service, the new location promises an unparalleled shopping experience.
Sean Miller, Owner of MGA Design Group LLC, expressed enthusiasm about designing the new Schwarzschild location, stating, “The new design concept for the Carytown Exchange location has resulted in a store that is both comfortable and beautiful. It invites customers to browse among the sparkling glass cases or to chat with your favorite jeweler at the hospitality bar.”
James Ashby IV and David Crawford of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer represented the landlord, Regency Centers, in the lease negotiations. Richard L. Thalhimer, also with Thalhimer, represented Schwarzschild Jewelers.
Schwarzschild Jewelers, established in 1897, remains a family-run, independent jeweler and one of Richmond’s oldest retails. With locations at Short Pump Town Center, Carytown Exchange, and Alverser Plaza in Midlothian, Schwarzschild Jewelers continues its tradition of excellence.
